Obituary Graysville, TN- Gregory P. Lamb, 67, of Graysville TN, formerly of Washington, IL, died at 5:55a.m., Saturday, March 14, 2015 at home, surrounded by his family. Born on October 4, 1947 in Peoria, IL to Paul and Marilyn Lamb, he married Janny J. Sheppard on August 8, 1970 in Pekin, IL. She preceded him in death in 2007. He then married Janice M. Punis on March 20, 2010, she survives. Also surviving are 1 son, Patrick (Missy) Lamb of Lafayette, IN; 1 daughter, Christine (Adam) Simmons, of Oswego, IL; 1 step-son, Michael VandenBergh of Gilberts, IL; and 1 step- daughter, Erin VandenBergh of San Diego, CA; 1 son-in-law, John Howard of Peoria; 4 grandchildren, Marilyn, Samuel, Gracie, & Harper; 2 sisters, Susan Neuls of Hainesville, IL and Polly (Dana) Wagner of Peoria, IL; 3 brothers, Mike (Jackee) Lamb of Bartonville, IL, Philip (Mary) Lamb of Peoria, IL, and Matt (Debbie) Lamb of Glasford, IL; as well as many beloved brothers and sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents and 1 daughter, Elizabeth J. Howard. He graduated from Northern Illinois University and then taught briefly at Washington Community High School before joining Caterpillar, Inc. Greg served with the 182nd Airlift Wing, Illinois Air National Guard for 6 years, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He went on to work at Caterpillar for over 30 years and held a number of positions with the company, before retiring as a Senior Product Service Engineer. A memorial Mass will be held at 2:00p.m., Thursday, March 26, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington. Inurnment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria. Father Stephen Willard will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga Foundation, PO Box 46., Chattanooga, TN 37401.
