Gregg W. Jackson, 70, of East Peoria, passed away at 10:00pm Friday, April 2, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Gregg was born April 6, 1950 in Peoria to Wayne and Betty Howe Jackson. On November 19, 1994, he married Pamela Gorman at their home in East Peoria. Surviving is his wife Pam, of East Peoria; his children, Michelle (John) Burgess of East Peoria, Lisa Jackson (Shannon Besco) of East Peoria, Jonathan Leggins (Stephen) of Marquette Heights, and Andrew Stidham of East Peoria; four grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan, Jack, and Nevaeh; sister, Cindy (Larry) Cassidy; and his dog, Maddie. He was preceded in death by his parents and his niece, Janice Childers. Gregg worked for Aggregate for over 20 years and last worked at Altorfer Cat Rental in East Peoria before retiring. He was a proud Union supporter and member; he was a Teamster Shop Steward and a member of the Operating Engineers. He was also a longtime member of Taylor Lodge #98 A.F. & A.M in Washington. Gregg loved life and enjoyed it in many ways, whether it was listening to live music (especially the blues), riding snowmobiles, ATVs and motorcycles, or even winemaking. He was a sports fan, cheering for the Bears, Giants, and Lakers and played league darts for many years. He loved any and all dogs and enjoyed winters in Florida and summers in Iron Co., WI. A funeral service for Gregg will be held at 1:00pm Friday, April 9, 2021 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Visitation will be from 11:00am-1:00pm at the funeral home, with Masonic Rites following. Masks and social distancing will be observed. Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Peoria Humane Society.
