Obituary EAST PEORIAa"Goldie M. Nelan Fletcher, 89, of East Peoria died at 11:15 PM on Thursday, December 20, 2007 at Riverview Senior Living Center in East Peoria. Born on September 15, 1918 in Peoria, IL to William "Mike" and Josephine Starcevich Venovich, she married William H. Nelan on August 10, 1935 in East Peoria, IL. He died on December 23, 1961. She later married Charles H. Fletcher on October 6, 1972 in California. He died on February 25, 1989 in California. Surviving are 1 daughter, Delores (Robert) Morton of East Peoria, IL and 1 son William J. (Orpha) Nelan of Washington, IL, 3 sisters, Emma Brown of Mattoon, IL, Mildred (James) Mathews of Creve Coeur, IL, and MaryAnn (Byron) Oesch of Pekin, IL, 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 1 sister, Helen Galvin and 1 brother, Joe Venovich. Goldie was co-owner of William H. Nelan Coal Trucking & Excavating in East Peoria. She later worked in merchandise accounting for CILCO for 18 years and at N. E. Finch & Co. both in Peoria. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in East Peoria and the Women of the Moose in Pekin. There will be no services. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Deiters Funeral Home in East Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
