CREVE COEUR - Glenn M. Warner, 77 a lifelong resident of Creve Coeur, IL, died at 11:00 AM Friday, March 12, 2010 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.
Born on May 25, 1932 in Peoria, IL to Clarence H. and Stella A. King Warner, he married Donna F. Lawrence Thompson on July 15, 1977 in Washington, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are 4 children: Cynthia Bordner and Jeffrey Warner, both of Creve Coeur, IL, Nykie (Jeff) Neuenschwander of East Peoria, IL, and Holly Thompson of Springfield, IL, 6 grandchildren: Ralph Bordner III, Amanda Mitchell, Nicholas Bordner, Haydn Thompson, Dylan Neuenschwander, and Derek Neuenschwander, and 3 great-grandchildren: Isabela Bordner, Sophia Bordner, and Gabriel Bordner.
He was preceded in death by his parents,1 sister, and 1 brother.
Glenn was a US Army Veteran.
Glenn was a self employed General Contractor working for his family business, C.H. Warner and Sons. He also worked as a Maintenance Supervisor at Washington Christian Village for many years.
A longtime member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria, Glenn enjoyed singing with the choir. He also enjoyed travel, gardening, bird watching and was an avid collector.
A funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria. Pastor Kerry Frantz will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Monday, March 15, 2010 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria, with an additional visitation from 12-1 pm Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria, where military rites will be accorded by the US Army and the Tazewell Military Rites Team.
