Obituary PEORIA- Gertrude "Trudy" Summer, 97, of Peoria passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 8:08AM at her residence. Trudy was born October 1, 1917 in Hanna City to Richard and Louise Rider Jordan. She married Mel Summer on April 18, 1936. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, infant son, Gary and one sister, Charlotte Miller. Trudy is survived by three nieces and one nephew; several great-nephews and one great-niece; one special great-nephew, Darren Smith of Washington. She also leaves behind her beloved Chihuahua, Sissy. For 20 years, she worked for Klous Company, retiring in 1980. There will be a graveside service for Trudy on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 10:00AM at Union Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers and because Trudy was a lover of all animals, memorial contributions may be made to Pets for Seniors c/o Barbara Cathey in Edwards, IL or TAPS in Pekin.
