Obituary Washington - Geraldine E. "Geri" Jackson, 82, of Washington, died at her residence, peacefully, with her family by her side at 8:48 AM on Friday August 10, 2012. She was born on December 16, 1929 in Peoria to Gordon and Elizabeth Gibson Jones. On January 5, 1952 she married Joseph L. Jackson in East Peoria. He preceded her in death on December 16, 2011. She was also preceded in death by one brother. Geraldine is survived by one son; Steve (Tammy) Jackson and one daughter; Kathy (Jeff) McGuire, both of East Peoria. She is also survived by two grandchildren; Steve Jr. and Austin, and five great-grandchildren. Geri retired in 1993 after 23 years of clerical office work for Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Mossville. She was a member of Faith Church in Washington. Geri loved to witness to others of her faith in Jesus. She loved to sing and was part of a gospel quartet in her younger years. There will be a funeral for Geraldine on Tuesday August 14, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor Steve Graffis will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
