Obituary Washington - Gerald "Jerry" Edwin Dose, 74, of Washington, died at 6:30 AM on Sunday November 11, 2012 at Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria. He was born on February 27, 1938 in Keokuk, Iowa to Frank Gilbert and Ethel Louise Sells Dose. On April 7, 1973 he married Alta Grace Hall in Creve Coeur, IL. She preceded him in death on February 20, 2008 in Peoria. Also preceding him in death were his parents, one brother Butch Dose, two infant sisters and one sister Phyllis Burrus. Jerry is survived by two daughters; Kimberly (Brandon) Sassman of Peoria Heights and Melissa Ann Bennett of Carthage, IL, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was very proud of his ten years of service in the US Army Reserves in Keokuk, Iowa. Jerry worked many years in security for various businesses in Iowa and Illinois. He was of the Catholic Faith. He had a deep love for Jesus. Jerry loved Gaither's music. One of his favorite things to do in life was watch a good storm role in. He adored his wife and daughter and he will be missed. Cremation rites have been accorded and burial of cremated remains will be in Glendale Cemetery at a later date.
