George "Mike" Thomison, 74, of Peoria died at 10:38 p.m. on Friday, September 10, 2021, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist in Peoria. He was born in McMinnville, TN, on April 29, 1947, to William M. and Frances Thomison. He married Joyce A. Dawson in 1970. His parents, wife and two brothers preceded him in death. Surviving are his son, Shane Thomison; grandchildren, Natalie, Nathan and Mallory; and his daughter, Amanda Thomison. He served in the military from 1966-1970. He retired from Bemis Company in 2006, where he worked for 36 years. A private graveside service will be held at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. A public memorial gathering will be held at a later date due to COVID-19. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ARK Animal Shelter in Lacon.
