George W. Howard, 85, of Peoria, passed away at 3:38pm Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Accolade Healthcare of East Peoria.

He was born July 29, 1937 in Sullivan, Indiana to the late Herbert and Laveta (Page) Howard.  He was also preceded in death by his sister, Doris.  He married Margaret Anne Ehlen in Peoria, IL on June 6, 1964.  She survives.

Also surviving are two children, John Howard and Emily Howard-Gant; granddaughter, Marilyn Howard; and several nieces and nephews.

George was a United States Army Veteran.  He worked as an engineer at Caterpillar Inc., retiring after 40 years of service.

He was a member of Forrest Hill United Methodist Church in Peoria where he enjoyed playing dartball.  He also enjoyed bowling, golf, and was a car enthusiast.  He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Cremation has been accorded.  The family wishes not to have services at this time.  Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to his church, Forrest Hill United Methodist.
