George "Bill" Goebel, 77, of Washington, passed away at 6:10pm Thursday, February 4, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born October 4, 1943 in Peoria to the late George H. and Josephine Mette Goebel. He married Sharon K. Ramey in Washington on October 19, 1963. She survives. Also surviving are three children, Teri (Hank) Henry of Ponte Vedra, FL, Tim (Stacey) Goebel of Pleasant Hill, CA, Todd (Christy) Goebel of Washington; seven grandchildren, Jason Gordon, Makayla Henry, Makenna Henry, Alex, Derek, Colin, and Sydney Goebel; and one sister, Judy (John) Cramer of AZ. Bill worked at Cilco for 23 years; he then worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 20 years before retiring. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington. He enjoyed sports, especially the Chicago Bears and New York Yankees. Due to Covid-19, cremation has been accorded. There will be a celebration of life service at a later date. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Illinois CancerCare, or St. Patrick Catholic Church.
