Obituary BERWYN - George Barrett, 91, formerly of Stickney, IL, died at 10:38 am Monday, October 15, 2007 at Snyder Village in Metamora, IL. Born on September 26, 1916 in Gloucester, MA to David and Catherine Carr Barrett, he married Eudean Preston on December 24, 1939 in Enid, OK. She died on June 19, 2002. Surviving are 2 sons, Donald P. (Diane) Barrett of Berwyn, IL, David W. Barrett (Linda Melnyczuk) of Lyons, IL, 1 daughter, B. Gail (Jim) Fitzpatrick of The Villages, FL, 1 sister, Mary Head of Carson City, NV, 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister, Kay Cameron. He was a US Army Veteran, serving during WWII. George was employed as a Distribution Manager of Chicago Medical Book Company, retiring after 47 years of service. He was a Member and Past Commander of the Stickney American Legion in Stickney. There will be no services. Cremation rites have been accorded.
