Obituary WASHINGTON - Genevieve B. "Jennie" Cooksey, 83, of Washington, died at 12:40 pm Monday, January 1, 2007 at her home. Born on June 18, 1923 in Sandoval, IL to Gieuseppi and Girolama Lafata Altadonna, she married Marl B. Cooksey on July 28, 1941 in Sandoval, Il. He died on July 18, 1994. Surviving are 2 sons, Lawrence J. (Ingrid) Cooksey of Washington, IL and Steven R. Cooksey of Temecula, CA and 1 daughter, Christine A. Remmel of Albuquerque, NM, 8 grandsons, and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothers. She worked as a Bookkeeper for Dr. Roger Moon Dentistry in Peoria for 20 years retiring in 1992. She also worked at Maloof Cleaners in Peoria. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington since 1949. A funeral mass will be at 10 am Monday, January 8, 2007 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Father Joseph P. Donton will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-6 pm Sunday, January 7, 2007 at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington with a Rosary service at 6pm. Additional visitation will be from 9:30-10 am Monday at the church. A graveside service will be at 2 pm Monday, January 8, 2007 at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL.
