Obituary Gary L. Stanford, 56, of East Peoria, IL, died at 2:14 pm Friday, June 22, 2012 in Lincoln, IL. Born on December 7, 1955 in Peoria, IL to Leonard C. and Mary Lou Stanfill Stanford, he was previously married to Marilyn Sue Schaub. She currently resides in Creve Coeur, IL. Also surviving are his mother, Mary Lou Stanford of Midland, GA, 2 daughters, Denise (Danny) Richards of East Peoria and Ashley Stanford of Lincoln, IL, 2 grandchildren, Dominick Richards and Sierra Richards, 1 brother, Steven C. (Kristina) Stanford of Novi, MI, 1 niece, Kaitlyn Stanford and 1 nephew, Scott Stanford. He was preceded in death by his father, and his grandparents, Walter and Rettie Stanford and Harvie Lee and Flora Stanfill. Gary was the Owner of Sparkgap Electronics in Lincoln, IL. He attended the University of Illinois and Bradley University taking classes in Electrical Engineering. An Amateur Ham Radio Operator, he recently achieved his Extra Class Status and had the call letters of AB9XN. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Funeral Services will be at 11 am Wednesday, June 27, 2012, also at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria, IL.
