Gail Annis, 71, of Washington, died at 3:45 pm on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at her home.

She was born on December 5, 1951 to the late Rachelle Louise (Depauw) and Donald Eugene Schopp. She married John Annis on February 26, 1972 in Geneseo, IL; he survives.

Also surviving is her daughter, Angela Marie Gail Annis; her grandson, Joshua Backes; and her beloved dog, Abbey.

Gail loved spending time with her husband John. They would often spend time together playing bridge or going to The Blend for coffee. Time she didn't spend with John was spent listening to music. She was a huge Beatles fan and in the 1960's even went and saw them live in Chicago. Gail was also a big fan of dogs and had several over the years. Gail lived a happy life surrounded by a loving family and will be missed dearly.

Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. Cremation has been accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a local animal shelter of the donor's choosing.
