Frederick "Freddie" D.
Hall
Feb 22, 1944 — Mar 13, 2024
On Wednesday, March 13, 2024 Frederick "Freddie" D. Hall of Eureka, IL (formerly of Bartonville, IL), passed away peacefully following a long illness.
He was born in Peoria, IL 2/22/44 to Frank Norman and Alice Marie Almasy-Hall. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 2 brothers. He was a longtime custodian at a local Tap in Bartonville, IL, retiring in 2015.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews, and his beloved cat. He was an avid train enthusiast with an encyclopedic knowledge of the history of the US railway. He particularly enjoyed going with family to watch trains at various spots throughout central Illinois. Additionally, he was very passionate about the historical conservation of the Gettysburg Battlefield, and donated to the American Battlefield Trust routinely. The family of Freddie would like to thank the staff of The Loft in Eureka, as well as the wonderful hospice staff at Vitas Health, for their excellent care and support of Freddie.
Cremation rites have been accorded, and a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Battlefield Trust, or to the National Railroad Hall of Fame in Galesburg.
