Obituary Francis D. Wort, 69, of Deer Creek formerly of Washington, died at 6:51 am on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Born on June 23, 1941 in Hersman, IL to Everett and Alice Boylen Wort, he married Janet Ann Underwood on August 24, 1963 in Mt. Sterling, IL; she survives. Also surviving are 3 sons, Doug (Robin) Wort of Bloomington, IL Donnie (Kathy) Wort of Peoria,IL and David (Connie) Wort of Washington, IL; 6 grandchildren, Cale, Crayton, Carlyn, Heather, Donnie and DJ; 3 step grandchildren, Greg, Justin and Brandon; 1 step great-grandson, Christian; and 1 sister, Mary Catherine Clark of Galesburg, IL. Francis was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Martha Jane Wort. He was employed by United Facility Warehousing for 13 years, and was currently the Superintendent of Public Works in Deer Creek, IL where he served for 21 years. Francis was a past member of the Northern Tazewell Fire Department and a current member of the Knights of Columbus John Menco Council #6707, both in Washington and was also serving as a board member for Deer Creek Fire & Rescue Department. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, Feb 24, 2011 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Wednesday Feb 23, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Deer Creek.
