Obituary Francis "Frank" J. Hayes, 90, of Washington, IL, passed away at 3:19 pm Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born April 3, 1925 in Macomb, IL to John and Margaret Cameron Hayes. He married Shirley J. Hersemann on Nov. 25, 1950 in Peoria, IL. She preceded him in death on Feb. 1, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jerome. Surviving are 3 daughters, Sue (Gary) Cleveland of Germantown Hills, Nancey DeSola of Boise, ID, Debbie (Mark) Welch of Washington; 4 grandchildren, Matthew (Sara) Cleveland, Brett Cleveland, Caitlyn DeSola, Cameron Welch; and 2 great-grandchildren, Carter and Aiden Cleveland. Frank was a WWII US Navy Veteran. He received his business degree from Bradley University and worked as a purchasing manager at Caterpillar Inc. retiring after 40 years of service in 1986. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate or T.A.P.S. Cremation rites have been accorded. Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 pm Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington at a later date.
