Floy Lee Bouchez, 86, of Peoria, passed away at 6:20pm Wednesday January 13, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born December 2, 1934 in Brookport, IL to William and Nina Hazel Risinger. She later married Carroll McGowen and they had seven children.
Surviving are her children, Joel McGowen, Sandy (Gary) Driskell, Revina (Steve) Smith, Marcy McGowan, Penny Walker, Elizabeth (Darren) Pennycuff, and Michael McGowen (Linn Elliott); twelve grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Harold Kerley; sisters, Hazel Kohlbuss, Shirley Russell, Marianna Belcher, Mary Lou Castleman, and Helen Copeland; grandson, Jared Mann McGowan; and an infant great-grandson.
Lee was raised on the family farm in Pope County and spent her younger years there. She worked for Apostolic Christian Skylines in Peoria for many years, retiring in 2006. She loved to read and worked crossword puzzles. She liked listening to music of all kinds and dancing, and even enjoyed watching sports. Above all else, she was a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother.

A graveside service will be at 2:00pm Monday, January 18, 2021 at Mount Zion Cemetery in rural Pope County. Local services will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics or the Alzheimer's Association.
