Obituary Florence M. Thompson, 93, formerly of Clinton, IA, died at 9:10 am Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Snyder Village in Metamora, IL. Born on March 29, 1917 in Garvin, Minnesota to Evart Orange and Anna Hill Carrier, she married Marvin E. Rasmussen in March of 1935 in Clinton. He preceded her in death in December of 1980. She later married Leonard Thompson and he also preceded her in death in 2005. Surviving are 1 daughter, Carol Wolfe of Jacksonville Beach, FL, 2 sons, Marvin (Corinne) Rasmussen Jr. of Green Lake, WI and Doug (Paula) Rasmussen of Washington, IL, 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 1 sister. A gathering of family and friends will be from 11am-1 pm Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Pape Funeral Home, 2308 Pershing Blvd., Clinton. Burial will be private at Springdale Cemetery in Clinton. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, IL is assisting the family with arrangements.
