Obituary WASHINGTON - Evan G. Knoblauch, 18, of 509 Victoria Drive, Washington, IL, died at 3:19 pm Saturday, January 5, 2008 in Cazenovia Township while going to help his grandmother. He was born on December 31, 1989 to Herbert T and Susan M. Evans Knoblauch. Surviving are his parents of Washington, 1 brother, Kyle T. Knoblauch, of Washington, his paternal grandmother, Barbara Knoblauch of Low Point, IL, his maternal great-grandmother, Francis Evans of Washburn, IL, and his step-grandfather, Robert Bell of LaRose, IL. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Gerald Knoblauch, maternal grandmother, Joyce Bell, and his maternal great-grandfather, Ralph Evans. Evan was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington. He graduated from St. Patrick Grade School and competed in the 2003 IESA State Track Meet, where his St Patrick team finished first in the 4 X100 individual competitions and fourth overall as a team. A senior at Washington Community High School, Evan was a 3 year Varsity Football Letterman and was the leading rusher for the 2007 Football Team. He was also a letterman on the WCHS Wrestling Team for 2 years, and the WCHS Track Team for 3 years. He was a member of the 1000 Lb. Club. Evan participated in the WCHS Speech Team for 2 years, served on the Student Council Executive Board, and was selected to attend Boys State. Evan was also active in various other school activities. He also worked for Pat's Lawn Service for the past 3 years. A funeral mass will be at 10 am Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Five Points Community Center 360 N. Wilmore Road in Washington. The Rev. Joseph P. Donton will officiate. Visitation will be from 3-7 pm Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at Five Points Community Center. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Metamora. Deiters Funeral Home in Washington assisting the family with arrangements.
