Obituary Peoria - Eugene Campbell, 93, of Peoria died at 2:24 AM on Wednesday July 30, 2014 at Unitypoint Health Methodist in Peoria. He was born on May 23, 1921 in Chambersburg, IL to Royal and Minnie Severns Campbell. He married Joyce Crotty on August 14, 1948 in Peoria. The celebrated nearly 66 years of marriage together. She survives. He is also survived by his daughter Karen (Bob) Reim of Sarasota, FL, three sons, Richard Campbell of Washington, Ron (Denise) Campbell of Peoria Heights, Randall Campbell of Lacon, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, three sisters and four brothers. Eugene served his country proudly during WWII in the United States Navy. He later worked as a bread salesman for many local bread companies, worked as a car salesman and retired after many years as a real estate agent. He was a former member of the masonic lodge. Cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria at a later date. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, Midwest Affiliate or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
