Obituary Ethel Johnston, 87, of East Peoria, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 4:35A.M. in her daughter-in-law's home in West Peoria. Ethel was born on February 29, 1928 in Peoria to Harold and Ada Robinson White. She married Ross Johnston on June 4, 1949 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on November 20, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bobby and Fred White. Ethel is survived by her two sons, Ross (Margie) Johnston and Rodney (Pamela) Johnston, all of East Peoria; one granddaughter, Heidi (Andy) Davis of Pekin; and one brother, Lawrence White of Bellevue. She was a 1946 graduate of Manual Training High School in Peoria. For four years, she worked at Bergner's in Peoria as saleswoman, but her favorite occupation was being loving and devoted homemaker. Ethel always enjoyed socializing with her friends at their "First of the Month Club" gatherings. Ethel also loved to travel within the United States. Her favorite trip was traveling to Branson, MO to watch her sister-in-law, Cristy Lane sing and perform shows. Memorial contributions may be made to TAPS in Pekin. Services will be at a later date.
