Obituary Ethel M. Hartman, 95, of Peoria, IL, died at 6:16 am on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at her home. Born on March 19, 1916 in Chicago, IL, to Arthur and Lillian L. Stork Weeks, she married Lyle J. Hartman on June 20, 1934 in Washington, IL. He preceded her in death on February 7, 2001 in Peoria, IL. Surviving are 1 son, Robert (Joann) Hartman of Washington, IL, 3 daughters, Judith Zyla of Biloxi, MS, Sharon (John) Lorentz of Peoria, IL, and Kathleen (Jan) Rieman of Lenox, MI, 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister, Eva Miller. Ethel worked as an LPN at Methodist Medical Center until 1958. She then worked at Dr. Forette's office in Washington and at the Washington Nursing Home until 1967. At that time, she and Lyle moved to Eolia, MO. They returned to Peoria in 1980. She was a member of the Washington Home Extension and the First United Methodist Church in Peoria. Ethel loved to quilt, and made one for nearly everyone in her family. Services will be at 11 am Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor Vonna Lou Larson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
