Ernest C. Phillips, 87, of Morton, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at the Loft Rehabilitation in Eureka.

He was born August 21, 1938 in Peoria to the late Ernest L. and Mary Phillips. He married Sharon Stein on June 8, 1963 in Washington.

Surviving is his wife, Sharon; their children, Scott (Holly) Phillips of Tremont, Rebecca McKnight of Deer Creek, and Kimberly (Clark) Oberlag of Glen Carbon; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his siblings Mary Ann Cashdollar of Morton, Richard Phillips of Morton, and Marjory Kutnz of Eureka.

Ernest was a member of Steamfitters Local 353 for many years until he became a partner in General Power Construction Co., retiring in 1998 as president of the company.

Cremation rites have been accorded and no services will be held.
