Obituary East Peoria - Emegene Lane, 90, of East Peoria, passed away peacefully at her home at 11:45 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015. She was born November 4, 1924 in Murphysboro, IL to Alfred and Ruth Stanton Lane. They both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Surviving is her twin sister, Kathleen Vanetti of East Peoria; 2 nieces, Donna Martin of Herrin, Janet (Greg) White of East Peoria; grandniece, Danielle White of East Peoria; 2 grandnephews, Shawn (Lynne) White of Oswego, Cody Martin of Herrin; great-grandnephew, Dylan Martin of Herrin; and 2 great-grandnieces, Caroline and Chayse White of Oswego. Emegene moved here from Herrin 5 years ago and became a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan and a member of St. Louis Cardinal Nation. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to TAPS in Pekin. A Celebration of Emegene's Life will be Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 200 Gem Street in East Peoria. Inurnment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Herrin at a later date. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
