Obituary Elizabeth "Liz" J. Oenning, 73, of Marquette Heights, IL, died at 12:53 pm Monday, September 6, 2010 at Methodist Medical Center emergency room. Born on August 17, 1937 in Santa Barbara, CA to Paul and Mona Erwin Koslosky, she married W. Franklin Oenning on November 26, 1959 in El Dorado, AR. He preceded her in death on August 11, 2007. Surviving are 3 children, Katherine (Wayne) Boley of Washington, IL, Stephen Oenning of Chicago, IL, and Caroline Oenning (Steven Laatsch) of Marquette Heights, IL, 2 sisters, Judy (Bob) Scott of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Nancy Curtis of Coppers Cove, TX, 1 granddaughter, Colleen Sheridan, and 5 grandsons, Christopher Newquist, Alexander Newquist, Ryan Newquist, Benjamin Boley, and Aaron Boley. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine Sheridan, and a brother, Red Koslosky. A graduate of Henderson State University, Liz was a Science Teacher at Georgetown Jr. High School in North Pekin for 20 years. She enjoyed painting, loved to travel to the Caribbean, and was passionate about helping others to teach. She also cherished time spent with her grandchildren. Services will be at 2 pm Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Father Dominic Garramone will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
