Obituary WASHINGTON - Elizabeth Ann "Bette" Bailey, 85, formerly of Leisure Acres in Washington, died at 10:51 am Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Washington Christian Village in Washington. Born on April 14, 1922 in Dunlap, IA to Timothy and Rose Mulligan Ledden, she married Thomas Bailey on January 17, 1948 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1972. Surviving are 2 sons, John (Sharon) Bailey of Peoria, IL and Tim (Laurie) Bailey of Washington, IL, 1 daughter, Mary (Greg) Marcussen of Bartonville, IL, 1 sister, Virginia Mullen of Peoria, IL, 5 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 step-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents 3 sisters, and 3 brothers. Bette worked as a Welder at Caterpillar Tractor Co. during WWII and also served as an Election Judge for 50 years. She was a member of the Leisure Acres Golden Agers Club. A funeral mass will be at 11 am Friday, April 4, 2008 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington. Father Mark Miller will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington, where a prayer service will be held at 6:45 pm. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in West Peoria.
