Obituary

Eliana "Ana" Li Heinze, 17, of Washington, passed away at 10:37 p.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from a motor vehicle accident in Logan County, IL. Born October 30, 2003 in Tuanfeng, China, Ana was the beloved daughter of Dennis and Karen Heinze. They survive. Also surviving are her brother, Nicholas Heinze; two sisters, Amelia and Isabella Heinze; future sister-in-law, Mirela Cojocaru; uncles and aunts, Dan and Kim Patterson, Garry and Marge Heinze; cousins, Rachel Ogden, Emily (Brennen Williams) Ogden, and Ben Heinze; and her lifelong best friend, Alena Boysen. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. Ana was a gifted young woman who studied at Washington Community High School and Illinois Central College. When Ana had a dream or goal, she dedicated herself to making it a reality-including her longstanding plans to attend med school and become a neurosurgeon. Ana approached every new pursuit with a conquering determination. Her long list of interests included dancing, music, video games, board games, drawing, robotics, foreign languages, playing with and training her doggos (as she called them), and spending quality time with family and friends. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. at Connect Church in Washington. Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 15 (also at Connect Church). Pastor Dave Jane will officiate, and the burial will immediately follow at Washington's Glendale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation at lovewithoutboundaries.com/donate. Love Without Boundaries is an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for orphans in China and other overseas countries. When making a contribution, the family requests you select the "Medical Care" category in honor of Ana's dream to serve in the medical field.
