Obituary
Eleanor Smith Morsinkhoff, 93, of 500 Centennial Drive, East Peoria, IL, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, December 29, 2010.
Born on December 18, 1917 in Montgomery City, MO to Grover Cleveland and Zella Sailor Smith, she married John William Morsinkhoff Sr. on September 26, 1937 in Kansas City, MO. He preceded her in death on September 11, 1993 in Lakeland, FL.
Surviving is one son, John William Morsinkhoff Jr. of Heath, TX and one daughter, Ellen Gay Leathers-Morrill (David Morrill) of Germantown Hills, IL, six grandchildren, Laura, Joseph, Jami, Jason, Andrew, and Jonathan, and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret Ann Sanders.
A long-time employee who worked in their offices across the country, Eleanor was among the first tax professionals hired by Henry and Richard Bloch for their new company, H & R Block, Inc., Main Street in Kansas City, MO.
Eleanor was a woman known for her abiding love for her family, for her generosity, for her wit, and for her love of books. She will be missed greatly by all those who knew and loved her.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements.
