Obituary EAST PEORIAa"Eleanor J. McCabe, 84, of East Peoria died at 2:10 AM on Monday, May 24, 2010 at her residence. Born on December 1, 1925 to John and Eleanor Waltz Bione in Herrin, IL, she married John McCabe on January 20 1947 in Herrin and was a loving spouse for over 63 years. He survives. Eleanor was a loving and dedicated mother to her 9 children, Raymond (Eileen) McCabe of Peoria, Angela (Roger) Pohl of York, SC, Phyllis (Ken) Minton of Washington, Marilyn (Jeffery) Shepperd of La Verne, CA, Daniel (Theresa) McCabe of Marquette Heights, Ron McCabe of Rialto, CA, Dolores Recar of Morton, Elaine (Paul) Hunt of Washington and Aileen (Mark) Hamann of East Peoria; 2 brothers, John Bione of Thompsonville, IL and Gary Bione of Alexandria, VA; 1 sister, Linda (Bill) Walker of Cherryville, NC; 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 1 sister Ann McCollum and 2 infant daughters. She was a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church in East Peoria where she was active in the Ladies' Guild and had also been active in the Altar & Rosary Society at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton. She enjoyed traveling, fishing in Minnesota, wintering in California, camping at Oak Run, playing cards with her grandchildren and beating her husband in cribbage. She cherished her dogs and most of all she loved her family. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, May 27 at St. Monica's Catholic Church in East Peoria. The Rev. Fr. Ken Marchulones will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, May 26 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria, where a prayer service will be held at 6:45 PM. Additional visitation will be held one half hour prior to Mass at the church on Thursday. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Morton.
