Obituary Elaine E. Stroup, 80, of Pekin, IL, died at 7:39 am Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Pekin Hospital in Pekin. Born July 3, 1930 in Browning, IL to Donald and Zelma (Harris) Weishaar, she married William E. Stroup on April 26, 1948 in Browning. He died August 14, 2009 in Peoria, IL. Surviving are 2 daughters, Pam (Michael) Dunne of Peoria, Judy (George) Massetti of Pekin; 1 son Dennis (Elaine) Stroup of Lake Dallas, TX; 1 sister, Elsie (Virgil) Gobel of Browning; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 1 brother, Jerry Weishaar. Elaine worked in retail sales at Bergner's in Peoria. She owned Elaine's vacuum shop in Pekin for many years. Elaine was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God in East Peoria where she and her husband participated in the Golden Agers Group. She loved to go shopping at Bergner's and made use of many coupons over the years! She found great joy in helping others, especially always being there for her children. She was her children's best friend, a devoted Christian and will truly be missed. Funeral services will be at 12 noon Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Glad Tidings Assembly of God in East Peoria. Pastor Fred Doughty will officiate. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to services at the church. Burial will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
