Edwin "Ed" Dale Otte, 75, of Washington, passed at 11:34 am Saturday, September 22, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Ed was born to Edwin and Mae Otte, January 17, 1943, in Rock City. He graduated high school from Lowden, Iowa in 1961. He married Roberta "Bobbi" Hagney in 1965, and they lived together in Washington for 48 years. She survives and together they raised two children; Larry and David (Stacey) Otte. Ed has three loving granddaughters; Haylee, Abigail, and Emily. Ed is remembered as a loving husband, dedicated father, and caring grandfather. He is also survived by his sister; Marie and brother; John Otte. He was preceded in death by his siblings; Ivan, Daniel, and Wayne. Ed served in the Army National Guard and was a machinist for Caterpillar until he retired in 1999. Ed was passionate about travel, sports, the outdoors and spending time with his family. A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, September 25th from 5 to 7 pm at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Graveside services will be held at 10 am Wednesday, September 26th, at Elmwood Cemetery in Greenview. The family requests that donations be made to Illinois CancerCare Foundation 8940 N.
