Obituary
East Peoria - Edward S. "Stan" Morris III, 66, of East Peoria died at 11:25 AM on July 7, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born September 11, 1947 in Peoria to Kenneth and Lucille Lottman Morris. He married Diana Ames on September 28, 1968 in Peoria. She survives. He is also survived by his three daughters, Julie (Ted) Nitz of Fayetteville, GA, Andrea (David Finck) Morris of Washington, Nicole (Joe) Vogel of Morton, ten grandchildren, Zachary (Lauren) Morris, Andrew Holderness, Brianna Shepler, Rece Finck, Natalie Shepler, Conner Holderness, Dawson Cook, Kaiden Finck and Sophia Cook, one brother Darold (Carol) Morris of West Branson, MO and one sister Elaine (Richard) Kauhn of Marquette Heights. He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother.
Stan worked several years at Butternut Bread in Peoria as an operator. He retired in 2010. He also volunteered his time at Hidden Manna Food Pantry in Peoria. He was a FOID Card holder, an avid Peoria Riverman fan, and loved to fish. Stan also enjoyed attending Drum and Bugle Corps competitions. He was a member of both Roland Manor Baptist Church in Sunnyland and Park Avenue Church in Peoria where he served as the music director. His family knew him as a man always wearing a hat and best known for his "bubba hat".
There will be a memorial service at 6:30PM on Wednesday July 9, 2014 at Roland Manor Baptist Church. There will be a time to greet the family for one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Steve Hardin and Pastor Larry Johnson will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hooked on Fishing at Dixon Seafood in East Peoria.
