Edward "Wayne" Lambrich, 77, of East Peoria, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

He was born January 15, 1947 in Metropolis, IL to the late Wesley and Gladys (Gullett) Lambrich.  He married Vicki Gadberry in Creve Coeur on July 26, 1968.  She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Jeff (Tricia) Lambrich and Matt Lambrich; four grandchildren, Paige, Brett and Chloe Lambrich, and Kaylee (JD) Jones; and two great-grandchildren, Kaylynne and Connor Jones.

Wayne was a U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam War veteran.  He worked at Caterpillar for 30 years, and later at Illinois Central College in security for 13 years before retiring.

He was a life member of VFW Post 2078 in East Peoria and a member of the Mackinaw Valley Long Rifle Association and reenactor for 20 years.  He also enjoyed fishing, cooking, leather crafting, metal detecting, riding his motorcycle and traveling. He will be dearly missed.

A celebration of life will be held at 6pm Monday, March 4, 2024 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington.  Family will receive friends 2 hours before the service on Monday from 4 to 6pm at the funeral home.  Private inurnment will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to VFW Post 2078 in East Peoria.
