Obituary

Obituary Edward Joseph Corbett, 94 of East Peoria, passed away at 11:36 Am on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at his home. Ed was born on April 28, 1918 in Detroit, MI to the late Oliver and Josephine Ebert Corbett. He married Sylvia von Meeteren on July 3, 1954 in Chicago, IL. She survives him. Also surviving are three sons and three daughters, Joanne Corbett (Sharon Aycock) of East Peoria, Jim Corbett of East Peoria, Judy (Dave) Sharp of Chillicothe, Joe (Cheri) Corbett of Casper, WY, Jerry Corbett of East Peoria and Jan Corbett of East Peoria; five grandchildren, Aaron (Linda) Taylor, Cameron (Aubrey) Corbett, Kayleigh and Kyree Corbett and Emma (Aaron) Dalbey; two great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Sarah Taylor. Ed was preceded in death by his son John Corbett on February 8, 2012, and by his brother and three sisters. Ed served in the United States Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was the owner of Grandview Mobile Home Park in East Peoria. In the spirit of kindness and generosity, Ed has gifted his body to the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois. A Memorial Mass will take place at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at St. Monica Catholic Church in East Peoria. Fr. Kenneth Marchulones will officiate. Visitation will take place at the church on Tuesday from 2:30 PM until the time of Mass. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory of East Peoria.
