Edna R. Root, 95, of Peoria, went into Jesus' loving arms at 8:58am Saturday, December 29, 2018 in East Peoria. Edna was born January 7, 1923 in Bachelor, MO to Fredrick W. and Rose Schlumph Gluck. She married Robert D. Root on September 25, 1955 in Peoria. She is survived by her husband, Robert of Peoria; daughters, Janet (Roger) Pelhank of Washington, GA, Barbara (Tom) McElwayne of Watkinsville, GA, and Sherrie (Don) Aldrich of Peoria; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her brother, Joel (Joy) Gluck of Peoria. Edna worked for many years at Bergner's and over the years was a member of Trinity Temple in Peoria. She lived her life as an exemplary Christian woman and remained faithful throughout her life. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am Friday, January 4, 2019 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Pastor Joey Watts will officiate and her brother Joel will sing.
