Obituary WASHINGTONa"Edna E. Bjork, 88, formerly of Washington, died at 2:05 PM on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, at Eureka Christian Home in Eureka after a long illness. Mrs. Bjork was born September 11, 1918, in Vandalia, Illinois, the daughter of Lewis L. and Fannie S. Wilson Fisher. She married Raymond A. Bjork on December 20, 1936 in Rock Falls, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 16, 2004 in Peoria. She was a Christian mother, a loving companion, enduring both hardship and blessing as a United Methodist pastor's wife in Iowa, Kentucky, Illinois and Florida. She served 5 years as a missionary at Red Bird Mission in Kentucky (1956-61). Her only desire was to be a loving mother and wife, exalting and bringing honor to Christ Jesus. She is survived by one daughter, Carol R. (Jack D.) Jones of Powell, TN; 3 sons, Victor L. (Judith) Bjork of Toledo, IA, Philip J. (Terri) Bjork, of Washington, and H. Clark Bjork of East Peoria; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Mrs. Bjork was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 1 sister. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, December 16, 2006, at New Castle Bible Church in Mackinaw. The Revs. Phillip Somers and Ralph Bauer will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church from 1:30-2:30 PM. Burial will be in Zion Evangelical United Methodist Church Cemetery near East Peoria. Arrangements are by Deiters Funeral Home in Washington.
