Obituary

Obituary East Peoria - Earl W. Kingsland, 80 of East Peoria, passed away at 9:37 AM on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Earl was born on May 30, 1932 in Sedalia, MO to the late Floyd and Hilda Wathon Kingsland. He married Josephine Grace Ott on March 15, 1953 in Groveland, IL. She predeceased him on November 5, 2012. Surviving are 4 sons, Phillip Kingsland of East Peoria, Rev. Curtis Kingsland of Dayton, MD, Tim Kingsland of Hobart, IN and Mark Kingsland of CA; 8 grandchildren, Timothy Jr., Christopher, Jennifer, Matthew, Derek, Jacob, Allyna and Brock, and 1 brother, Arthur Kingsland of Hanna City. Earl was preceded in death by his wife Josephine, a son Daniel Kingsland and an infant daughter. Earl served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Earl was a former school bus driver for East Peoria School Dist # 309 and Peoria Public Schools Dist #150. He served the citizens of East Peoria on the East Peoria Fire Department for 28 years retiring as Lieutenant in 1993. Earl also taught Fire Science at ICC for a short time. He loved reading, especially Science Fiction Novels. Funeral Services will take place at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria. His son, Rev. Curtis Kingsland will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Bible Church Cemetery in Groveland with Military Honors rendered by the United States Navy Honor Guard and Tazewell Military Rites Team. Visitation will take place on Tuesday at the funeral home from 11:30 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the East Peoria Fire Department.
