Obituary

Dr. David L. Krick, age 68, of Washington, IL, passed away on January 9, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.

Dave was born to Robert (Bob) and Louise Krick in Greenville, Mississippi.  Raised as a deeply loved son and brother, he is survived by his mother; brother, Jim (Pam) Krick; and sister, Tracy (Mark) Janusz.

Dave graduated from Richwoods High School in 1974 and Illinois Wesleyan University in 1978.He played basketball at both schools, solidifying a love for the game that carried throughout his life.  He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 1982.  He had so many lifelong friends from all three schools who meant the world to him.

Dave met his wife SuAnne in high school and they started dating when they were both in college in Bloomington, IL.  They were married for 44 wonderful years, together raising 3 children and later becoming grandparents to 10 grandchildren: Abbey (Scott) Strubhar, their children, Avery, Nolan, and Sadie; Dr. Taylor (Jamie) Krick, their children,  Reynolds, Ruby, and Brighton; Maggie (Matt) Mose, and their children, Alec, Owen, Micah, and Eden.  Dave embraced his role as "Pops" and cherished having all of his kids and grandchildren close to him in Washington.  Dave's happiest days were in the company of his family and friends and on the golf course, playing a game that brought him occasional frustration but great joy.

Dave practiced dentistry for 40 years, maintaining the same dedicated staff for over 30 of those years.  Known for his gentle nature, kindness and humor, he treasured the relationships he forged with his loyal patients and staff.

Dave's love for his wife and family came second only to his love of Jesus.  His whole life, and even in the midst of his swift and aggressive battle with cancer, Dave looked forward to heaven.  While he will be missed beyond words, his family clings to the promise that he is at peace with Jesus.

A visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 pm on Friday, January 19th and a funeral at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 20th, both at Summit Point Church in East Peoria, IL.  Cremation services were provided by Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Young Life 15 East Adams St., Morton, IL 61550, an organization that was near and dear to Dave's heart.
