Obituary
Douglas Wayne Piper, 67, of Cherokee Village, AR, formerly of Washington, passed away on Thursday May 12th, 2016 at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR.
Douglas was born November 24, 1948 in Pekin, to Theodore and Nelda Golden Piper. He later married Vickie Sanders.
Surviving is his wife of 49 years Vickie R. Piper, of Cherokee Village, AR; their children, Kimberly Reeves and Doug Piper; grandsons Britt and Pierce Reeves and Cody Piper; siblings Debbie Hammond, Daniel Piper and David Piper; his parents in law, Kenneth and Dorothy Sanders; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Matt Piper.
Douglas was a tool design specialist at Caterpillar Inc. and retired after 30 years with the company. He was also a member of the Free Masons. Douglas had two dogs, Grizzly and Charlie, whom he loved very much. He enjoyed fishing, Nascar, golf, and riding his Harley Davidson Road King.
The family will receive friends from 10-11:30am Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Private inurnment will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Association.
