Obituary East Peoria - Douglas H. Hanbury, 65 of East Peoria died at 1:40 PM Friday September 20, 2013 at his residence. He was born November 21, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa to Robert J. and Lela C. Hauge Hanbury. They preceded him in death. He is survived by his life friend David K. Castle of East Peoria and his cousins; Kristi Jones of Colorado, Janet Jarc of Missouri, Krista Lindstrom of Colorado and John Lindstrom. He was a graduate of St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. Doug retired in 2006 after several years of service at Wells Fargo in the Trust Department. He had a love for computers and loved to surf the internet. He was also an avid photographer. He loved going out to dinner at various restaurants. He was a gentle soul who loved everyone no matter their disposition. He was a friend to all and had an infectious laugh. Although Doug's family have all passed he was considered a son, brother, and friend to David's family. He was included in all the family special occasions, birthdays, and holidays. He will truly be missed but fondly remembered by his loved ones. There will be a memorial service for Doug at 2 PM on Saturday September 28, 2013 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Cremation rites have been accorded.
