Dorothy M. Schertz, 96, of Washington, passed away Friday, November 10, 2023 at the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka.

She was born May 1, 1927 in Washington, IL to the late Daniel S. and Elizabeth "Anna" (Ulrich) Kamp.  She married Robert D. "Bob" Schertz in Washington on December 31, 1946.  He preceded her in death on February 20, 2017.  She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Wilmarth; and seven siblings.

Surviving are two sons, Douglas (Pat) Schertz, Dennis (Sheila) Schertz; five grandchildren; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Donald (Lois) Kamp.

Dorothy enjoyed being a farmers' wife.  She also worked at Washington Community High School, and Con Agri in Goodfield doing soil testing for 17 years.

She was a member of Calvary Community Church in Washington where her funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 16th at 11am, Rev. Clayton Tinervin officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church from 10 to 11am.  Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Deer Creek.  Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
