Obituary WASHINGTON - Dorothy Jane Miner, 97, of Washington, IL and formerly of Des Plaines, IL, died at 2:10 am Monday, September 17, 2007 at Washington Christian Village in Washington, IL. Born on August 10, 1910 in Stanford, IL to Walter Grant and Mary Francis Britch Trott, she married Roy Edwin Miner on November 20, 1932. He died July 18, 1954 in Syracuse, Nebraska. Surviving are 1 son, Richard (Sue) Miner of Washington, IL, and 3 grandchildren, Roy Edwin Miner of Washington, IL, Robin (Doug) Wort of Bloomington, IL and Rhonda (Dave) Gile of Raleigh, NC and 5 great-grandchildren, Cale, Crayton, Carlyne, Jacquelyn, and Justine. She was preceded in death by 4 sisters. She was a Secretary for Precision Instrument, a division of Snap on Tools, in Des Plaines, IL for over 25 years. She was a member of the Methodist Church and the Home Sweet Home Mission in Bloomington, IL. Services will be at 1 pm Friday, September 21, 2007 at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington. The Rev. Jim Gorby will officiate. A graveside service will follow at 3 pm at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Stanford, IL. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Thursday, September 20, 2007 at the funeral home.
