Obituary Washington- Dorothy B. Eastman, 97 of Metamora, formerly of Washington, passed away at 1:24 AM on Friday August 5, 2011 at Snyder Village. She was born October 21, 1913 in Ellsworth Kansas to Fay E. and Lucy Land. She married Fred Eastman on July 5, 1931 in Peoria, IL. She is survived by her daughter Bonnie (Keith) Park of Washington, four grandchildren, Kim(Linda) Weber, Kevin (Diane) Weber and Kelly (Pat) Sarver all of Washington, and Christy Weber of Peoria, four great-grandchildren, Katy (Tim) Warren, Zach Weber, Tony Burgard and Josh Weber, one great-great-grandson Maison Burgard and one sister Carol Bastien of Peoria. She worked many years for her father at his store on the Square in Washington, Lands Clothing Store. In 1952 she went to work at Caterpillar Inc. in Research until 1958. In 1972 she and Fred moved to Largo, Florida where they stayed until 1996 when they returned to Snyder Village in Metamora. Dorothy knitted many afghans for friends and family. She also gave many to employees at Snyder Village. Her doctor, dentist, hairdresser, favorite waitress and even the gas station lady who pumped her gas were also given afghans. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and her husband. Per Dorothy's wishes there will be no visitation or service. Cremation will be accorded. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is handling arrangements. Memorials may be made to Shriners Children Hospital or Methodist Hospice.
