Obituary MORTON - Doris A. Winship, 91, of Morton and formerly of East Peoria, died at 11:30 pm Monday, June 3, 2013 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Born on July 2, 1921 in Sparland, IL to Ralph E. and Rena Tanquary Greene, she married Ralph E. Winship on November 18, 1945 in Sparland, IL. He survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Barbara (Michael) Hutchins of Morton, IL, 5 grandchildren, Sean Hutchins, Tracy (Derek) Anderson and Nicola (Lyndon) Perry all of Pekin, IL, Stephen (Amy Connell) Blease of Stoughton, WI, and Amy (Chris Robinson) Blease of Worcester, England, her son-in-law, David Blease of Delavan, IL, and 1 brother, Ralph Greene of Sun City, AZ and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Winship Blease. Doris taught 5th and 6th grade at Irving Elementary School in Peoria District #150 Schools for 30 years, retiring in 1984. She was a breast cancer survivor of 20 years. Doris was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Peoria for many years. Growing up on a farm, Doris enjoyed nature, including gardening, birds, flowers, and butterflies. Her sense of humor and appreciation for music was contagious. Her vivacious and upbeat personality will be missed by all who have known her. Services for Doris will be at 7 pm Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. Rev. Glenn Ioder will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Thursday at the funeral home. A graveside service will be at 10 am Friday, June 7, 2013 at Putnam County Cemetery in Senachwine.
