Obituary Doris Marion Stone, 95, of Metamora, IL, and formerly of Washington, IL, died on Monday, November 26, 2012 at Snyder Village in Metamora, IL. Born on November 2, 1917 in Chicago, IL, to Oscar D. and Beda Maria Pettersson Forsman, she married John C. "Jack" Stone on July 18, 1942 in Chicago, IL. He preceded her in death on November 16, 1987. Surviving are 4 children; Sandy Thome of Las Vegas, NV, John (Julie) Stone of San Diego, CA, Pam(Carl) Koch of Knoxville, TN, and Wendy (Vlad) Stadnyk of Chappaqua, NY, 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Walter and Thor. Doris worked at Kickapoo Council of Girl Scouts in Peoria for many years, serving for three years as the Executive Director. She was also a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington. Services for Doris will be at 3 pm Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor John N. Bates will officiate. Visitation will begin at 1 pm until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.
