Obituary

Doris Irene Quick, 93, of East Peoria, formerly of Morton and Peoria, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

She was born April 21, 1933 in Peoria to Floyd and Lucille (McNeal) Arrowsmith.  She married Jack L. Quick on November 5, 1949 in Hanna City.  He preceded her in death on October 25, 1985.

Surviving are five children, Pamela Easton, John Quick, Michael (Holly) Quick, Richard (Sherri) Quick of Arizona, Randall (Jeff Bares) Quick of Missouri; six grandchildren, Bradley, Brett, Eric, Courtney, Christopher, Ashley; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; long time good friend, Shirley Wenell-Clark; and close family friend, Jim Barnett.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bill Arrowsmith; sister, Betty Coffey; and one granddaughter, Tanya Marie Quick.

Doris was a former member of Hanna City United Methodist Church.  She volunteered at OSF St. Francis for 28 years, helped with We Care in Morton for 15 years, was an election judge in Morton for 15 years, and was in the Pleasant Hill Mothers' Club for many years.  In her later years she started playing golf, playing for 30 years in the Fondulac Ladies Golf League and enjoyed that greatly even winning some trophies.  She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and memorabilia collector.  She asked that attendees wear Cardinals apparel to her service if possible.

Visitation will be from 10am to 11am Monday, June 22nd at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington.  Her funeral service will follow at 11am at the funeral home with close friend Jim Barnett officiating.  Burial will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Morton.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude Bartonville to Peoria Run.
