Obituary PEORIA--Doris M. Murdoch, 75, of Peoria, formerly of Washington died at 3:00 PM, on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria. She was born on October 26, 1933 in Switzerland to Paul and Albine Winkler Weiss. She married Charles W. Murdoch, Jr. on June 25, 1960 in St. Louis, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 17, 1999 Surviving are her 4 children, Terri (Tom) Doremus of Washington IL, Cara Murdoch of Washington IL, Roy (Uschi) Murdoch of Washington IL, and Michael (Cathy) Murdoch of Murphy TX; 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Doris worked as a registered nurse in the operating room, pediatrics, premature nursery, as a staff nurse, and in nursing homes. Doris had been a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Washington, and was also a very active member of the National MS Society. A memorial service celebrating Doris's life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria. Visitation will be from 2-3 PM followed by the service at 3 PM, with a reception following the service. The Rev. Paul Park will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded. Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
