Obituary Doris Helen Miller, 86, of East Peoria died at 2:15AM, Friday, August 29, 2014 at Fondulac Rehabilitation Center in East Peoria. Doris was born June 6, 1928 in Woodford County to Frank D. and Hilda I. Helmuth Zimmerman. She was first married to Roland Sering. She later married Billy D. Miller on July 23, 1961 at First United Methodist Church in East Peoria. Surviving are her husband, Billy of East Peoria; three children, Diana (Roger) Maddox of Dunlap, Thomas (Cynthia) Sering of Brunswick, GA, and Paul (Cynthia) Sering of Port Charlotte, FL; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Ramona Bayer of Steeleville; 2 nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two children, David Sering and Donna Miller Curless. Doris graduated from East Peoria High School. She worked for Arthur Murray Studios and Tazewell Savings and Loan and it's successors. She was a former member of Cloverleaf Chapter Eastern Star. She enjoyed winters in Florida, painting, crafts, and playing cards. Cremation rites have been accorded by Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. A private graveside will be held at a later date at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church in East Peoria, 154 E. Washington St, East Peoria, IL, 61611.
