Obituary East Peoria- Dora G. McDaniel, 93, of East Peoria, IL, and formerly Roanoke, VA, passed away at 6:35 PM on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Washington Christian Village in Washington. She is survived by her daughter Marita (Douglas) McDaniel Early of East Peoria; son LeRoy Leonard (Anne) McDaniel, Jr. of Dallas, GA; 6 grandchildren Annette (Roberto) Macias of Folsom, CA, Mark (Tina) Early of Denver, CO, Lisa (Rick) Doty of Metamora, Christopher (Adream) Early of Milwaukee, WI, Kristopher McDaniel of Lexington, KY and his fiance Elizabeth Hooks of Seattle, WA, and Joseph McDaniel and Melissa Payne of Grover Beach, CA; 15 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 42 years, LeRoy L. McDaniel, Sr., and grandson Bradley Austin McDaniel. Mrs. McDaniel was a homemaker who always put her family first. She was retired from Roanoke Apple Products in Roanoke, VA and also was a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Roanoke. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, IL. A funeral service will be held in Roanoke , VA at the Abbey at Sherwood Memorial Park at a later date where burial will follow. Rev. Emory Tarpley, Sr. will officiate.
